Why Mike and Ike split up

I heard about this from my friend's blog and I'm sure you heard of it too. Its that Mike and Ike split up. I know it stinks but I think I figured out why they split up. For a while the candy wasn't that popular so maybe they pretended to split up. Then everyone would buy the new boxes shown in the picture.
